About SCAND

The South Carolina Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (SCAND)

• Represents more than 700 nutrition professionals in the state

• Is an affiliate of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics which represents nearly 72,000 food and nutrition professionals

• Serves South Carolinians by promoting optimal nutrition, health and well-being.

• Is divided into four geographical districts with each having a set of officers – Piedmont, Catawba/Pee Dee, Columbia Midlands, and Charleston Trident.

• Represents dietitians and dietetic technicians employed in state and federal government positions such as WIC, school nutrition, DHEC and other community settings; hospitals; long term care facilities; outpatient services; food related businesses; and universities and research centers.
